[How Did the Serbian Student Movement Beat Vučić’s Authoritarianism?

What began as protests demanding justice after the deadly Novi Sad railway station collapse in November 2024 grew into a nationwide movement challenging Aleksandar Vučić’s grip on power. Through decentralised organising, mass mobilisation and remarkable solidarity across generations, Serbian students turned public outrage into a political force and ultimately defeated Vučić at the ballot box.
