to cast a spell skills for collective action

Vor Ort

The symposium is dedicated to practices of organizing in art and beyond: solidarity-based funding models, peer learning, self-managed structures, and experimental assembly formats. At its core are artistic and curatorial proposals that function as social and political tools, shaping both gatherings and long-term structures. They negotiate forms of collective action and develop the capacity to act in the face of structural powerlessness. How do we organize our communities? What kinds of knowledge, relationships, and practices shape more livable lives? What are the spaces and power dynamics we want to confront? With invited guests from initiatives and collectives developing radical care practices, commons-based models, and experimental forms of organization, the symposium explores visions and practical tools for building solidarity-based infrastructures, within and outside the Academy. With: Simona Markel Dvořák, Initiative for Practices and Visions of Radical Care (based in Paris, France) Chantelle Lue, School of Commons (Founded in Zürich, Switzerland) Wan Ing Que, BAK Basecamp Collective (Based in Utrecht, Netherlands) Organized by Luise Willer (Collaborate Research Center Intervening Arts) and Class Anna Witt (HBK Braunschweig)
