[On Eco-Fascism and End-Times Fascism

On Eco-Fascism and End-Times Fascism: Discussion and Collective Reading (in English and German). In this seminar, we ask whether there is a continuity in the way right-wing nationalisms address environmental issues from the origins of fascism to the currently ongoing global “polycrisis.” We also discuss the term „end-times fascism“ by Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor, who argue that the European fascism of the 1930s and 1940s had certain visions for a future golden age, even if it meant pulling their societies into a genocidal bloodbath. Today, fascism is apocalyptic in that it escalates climate disasters and actively chooses to let the earth burn.
